Blue Grass Airport Seeks Volunteers for Full-Scale Emergency Exercise
Want to help keep Kentucky flying safely? Blue Grass Airport is looking for community volunteers to take part in its upcoming full-scale emergency exercise on Wednesday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers will step into the roles of “passengers” or “family members” during a simulated airport emergency, giving airport staff and local first responders an opportunity to practice their response procedures and lifesaving skills in a realistic setting.
The exercise is part of the airport’s emergency preparedness efforts and helps local agencies train for situations they hope never happen. Blue Grass Airport conducts full-scale exercises in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration requirements.
Participation is a unique behind-the-scenes way for community members to support local first responders and help Blue Grass Airport prepare for the unexpected.
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
