The LEGO Group has taken another step toward opening its first official Lexington store.

The company has added its upcoming location at The Summit at Fritz Farm to its online list of grand opening and store anniversary events, signaling that the store is moving closer to opening. While LEGO has not announced an opening date, the Lexington location is now listed with a “Date coming soon” notice.

The store will become the first official LEGO Store in Central Kentucky, giving local fans a dedicated destination for exclusive sets, Pick a Brick, Build a Minifigure, and other in-store experiences typically offered at LEGO retail locations. Until now, area residents have traveled to Louisville or Cincinnati to visit company-owned LEGO retail locations.

News of a Lexington LEGO Store first surfaced in 2024. The appearance of the store on LEGO’s official grand opening events page is the latest public sign that the opening is drawing closer.

LEGO says details about the grand opening celebration will be announced at a later date.
