Castle & Key Distillery has announced a new collaboration with Taylor Made Farms, unveiling a series of curated tourism experiences designed to connect Kentucky’s bourbon heritage with its thoroughbred racing culture.
The partnership brings together two well-known Kentucky brands to offer multi-day and single-day packages centered on storytelling, hospitality, and hands-on access to historic distillery and horse farm environments.
A Heritage-Driven Collaboration
The collaboration is rooted in Woodford County history tied to bourbon pioneer Colonel E.H. Taylor, whose former farmland is now home to Diamond A Farm operated by Taylor Made Farms. Castle & Key owner Will Arvin said the shared geography and history give the partnership added significance, noting the connection between Kentucky farmland, bourbon, and horse breeding.
“Ruins, Reins, & Racing” Weekend Experience
Launching in the fall, the signature offering—“Ruins, Reins, & Racing”—is a multi-day luxury itinerary beginning at Castle & Key Distillery. Guests will tour the historic grounds, enjoy a chef-prepared lunch, and participate in guided tastings of the distillery’s spirits.
The second day shifts to Taylor Made Farms, where visitors gain behind-the-scenes access to Kentucky’s thoroughbred industry, including opportunities to see champion bloodlines and learn directly from equine professionals. Concierge accommodations are also available for guests.
One-Day “Bourbon & Bloodlines” Excursion
The collaboration also includes a one-day experience titled “Bourbon & Bloodlines in the Bluegrass.” The itinerary begins at Diamond A Farm with an in-depth tour of the breeding operation and hands-on equine experiences, including horse grooming alongside experts. The day concludes with a guided distillery tour and private tasting at Castle & Key.
Blending Bourbon and Equine Tourism
Organizers say the series is designed to highlight Kentucky’s identity as both a global bourbon destination and a leader in thoroughbred racing. The experiences emphasize immersive storytelling, combining agriculture, heritage, and luxury tourism.
