Country Boy Brewing is expanding beyond beer and into spirits, announcing the launch of Country Boy Distilling and a new production facility in Sadieville that is expected to open this fall.

The move marks a significant milestone for the Kentucky-based brewery, which has built a strong following across the state since its founding. The new distilling operation will produce vodka, gin, and apple brandy from a renovated 1,300-square-foot facility located at 6325 Cincinnati Road, the former home of Hi-View Meats & Groceries.

For Country Boy Brewing founder and brand manager Daniel “DH” Harrison, the project carries personal significance.

“This place is close to my heart, I grew up stopping there every week,” Harrison said. “Being able to plant our distillation roots in Sadieville means a lot to the family that is Country Boy Brewing.”

The facility is expected to become the first production distillery in Scott County since the repeal of Prohibition, adding a new chapter to the region’s growing spirits industry.

In addition to producing spirits, the distillery will offer visitors an opportunity to experience the distillation process firsthand. Plans include guided tours, a tasting room featuring signature cocktails, and a small bar serving Country Boy beer.

“We are excited to offer tours of our small distillery to locals and tourists alike,” said Pete Weiss, marketing director for Country Boy Brewing. “The small tasting room on site will offer a unique experience for first-time guests as well as long-time Country Boy fans.”

The distilling operation will be led by Tyler Gomez, director of distillation for Country Boy Brewing. According to Gomez, the company partnered with Louisville-based still manufacturer Vendome to develop a custom 100-gallon still for the project.

“We worked with Vendome to create a custom 100-gallon still,” Gomez said. “This has been two years in the making, and we are all really excited to see that first batch in the bottle.”

Country Boy Distilling plans to seek membership in the Kentucky Distillers Association and hopes to eventually earn a place on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Construction is currently underway, with additional updates expected ahead of the fall opening.

The company will share progress updates through its social media channels under @countryboydistilling.
